To my potential student:
Thank you for your interest in taking pool lessons. There are a few
things you should know before we begin. The cost is $50 an hour of
if you choose to pay $200 up front, you will get 5 lessons out of that
amount (which would bring the price down to $40 an hour). If it is
financially easier for you, you can also pay the $50 each lesson for
four lessons and have the fifth lesson for free (which amounts to
the same thing). There is no set time that I give lessons as they are
as they are given by appointment only. I am generally not available
Monday,Thursday and Friday nights. I usually give my lessons at Mr.
Cues Billiards, and the table time is $5 for two hours. This is a great
deal for you, as one hour is for the lesson and the next hour is for
you to practice.
People often ask me about how many lessons they may need. That is
all up to YOU. I can quickly teach you concepts and strategies, but if
you do not practice, you will not be able to execute what you
learned. Executing what you are trying to do may be the hardest
thing in pool. Otherwise, we could all be world champions if we
could just learn from a book! I recommend practicing for a MINIMUM
of four QUALITY hours between lessons. If at some point, you do not
have the time to practice one week, we can always reschedule. In
other words, I do not want to waste your valuable time and money. I
take great pride in seeing my students improve!
I am also asked what I would teach. That is also dependent on YOU.
It is your lesson, and I am willing to go over what you want. I do like
to emphasize strong basics and fundamentals, as it is my belief that
without them, you will not develop the consistency you will need to
play good pool. However, if you feel that you only need a few
pointers as far as strategies and concepts, then that is up to you.
